Two Youth from Mathura Commissioned as Lieutenants in Indian Army, Receive Grand Welcome After Training

Mathura | 10 March 2026 Two young achievers from Mathura, Shivam Saraswat and Damini Kushwaha, have brought pride to their district after being commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army. After completing their training at the Officers Training Academy, both officers returned home where they were warmly welcomed by family members and local residents. Damini Kushwaha, a resident of Tatvadarshi Vatika in Mathura, achieved an impressive result in the Combined Defence Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission. She secured the fourth rank at the national level. When she arrived at Mathura Junction Railway Station, people greeted her with drum beats, flower showers and enthusiastic celebrations. Damini shared that the spirit of serving the nation runs in her family, as several of her relatives have already served in the armed forces. Meanwhile, the commissioning of Shivam Saraswat, a resident of Gayatri Vihar in the Mahavan area, also brought great excitement to the community. Shivam completed his graduation from Aligarh Muslim University before clearing the CDS and SSB selection process. On his return home, locals organised a grand welcome to celebrate his achievement. Both officers expressed their commitment to serving the country.
