Akhilesh Yadav launches sharp attack on BJP’s Foundation Day

Kannauj, April 6: Marking the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Foundation Day, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a strong political attack, targeting the BJP on issues ranging from ideology and constitutional values to reservations and governance. His remarks underline the intensifying political rhetoric ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Addressing media during his visit to Kannauj on Monday, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Bharatiya Janata Party is a party that never accepted the Indian flag; their Sanghi associates, unregistered and underground people, never accepted the national flag. They are neither socialists nor do they believe in the Constitution.” He further stated, “The Constitution, democracy, reservation and PDA must be protected. We will work on the path shown by Baba Saheb, Lohia ji and Netaji. A Samajwadi government is going to be formed, which is why BJP leaders are nervous.” On the issue of women’s reservation, the Kannauj MP said, “Samajwadi Party supports reservation, respect and rights for women. But when it comes to giving it based on population, the data itself is outdated. They are using 2011 data while it is 2026 now. Their intent to provide reservation is not right.” Commenting on West Bengal, he alleged, “When BJP loses public support, it conspires with the Election Commission.” On rising concerns over LPG, petrol and diesel, Akhilesh remarked, “They can give empty cylinders but not filled ones. Just like there was manipulation in fertilizer sacks, if you measure the cylinders, their weight will be less.” Speaking about the 2027 elections, he said, “We have to prepare for 2027 and win all seats in Kannauj. Samajwadi Party is going to win all seats here.” He also commented on the Iran-Israel-US conflict, saying, “We socialists have always been against war. The war should end as soon as possible so that the economy, which is being affected, can recover.” The remarks reflect a broader opposition narrative focused on governance, economic concerns, and constitutional values, while also signaling the Samajwadi Party’s confidence ahead of upcoming electoral battles.
