New Delhi, May 12, 2026 A major political event is set to take place in Assam as Prim Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are scheduled to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati. The event marks the beginning of Sarma’s second consecutive term as Chief Minister after the BJP-led NDA’s strong performance in the Assembly elections. The oath-taking ceremony will be held at the Khanapara Veterinary College ground, where several senior BJP and NDA leaders are also expected to be present.
