Arunachal Pradesh: PM Modi to Unveil ₹5,100 Crore Development Projects

Lucknow, 21 Sep, 2025 07:00 PMItanagar, September 21, 2025 Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Arunachal Pradesh on September 22, 2025, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over ₹5,100 crore. The visit aims to boost infrastructure and energy development in the state, with a focus on harnessing its vast hydroelectric potential. The Prime Minister will arrive at Donyi Polo Airport in Hollongi and proceed to the Raj Bhavan in Itanagar. From there, he will travel to Indira Gandhi Park, where he will unveil the development projects and address a public rally. Among the key initiatives are the Tato-I and Heo hydropower projects, both of which will be developed on the Yarjep River in the Shi Yomi district. The Tato-I project, with a capacity of 186 MW, will be developed jointly by the Arunachal Pradesh government and the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) at an estimated cost of ₹1,750 crore. The Heo project, with a capacity of 240 MW, is expected to be developed at a cost of ₹1,950 crore. Together, these projects are expected to significantly enhance the state's power generation capacity and contribute to the national grid. In addition to the hydropower projects, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones for various infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving connectivity and promoting economic development in the region. These projects are expected to create employment opportunities and stimulate growth in Arunachal Pradesh. The visit is seen as a significant step towards realizing the state's development potential and integrating it more closely with the national economy. Local leaders and citizens are eagerly awaiting the Prime Minister's arrival, hopeful that these initiatives will pave the way for a brighter future for Arunachal Pradesh.
