47,600 Crore Push: Major Development Projects Unveiled in Odisha

New Delhi, 20 June 2026 Marking a significant infrastructure and growth milestone for Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth more than ₹47,600 crore during a major public programme in the state. The initiative reflects a broader focus on strengthening connectivity, public services, industrial growth, and long-term regional development. During the visit, the Prime Minister and President Droupadi Murmu participated in programmes held in Mayurbhanj district, including engagements in Pahadpur village. The visit also highlighted local culture and community participation alongside efforts linked to education, skill development, and social progress. The projects announced span several key sectors including energy, industrial infrastructure, roads, drinking water, healthcare, education, tourism, and irrigation. The programme was organised under the theme “Vikas ra Dhara, Odisha Sara” and also coincided with the completion of two years of the Odisha government’s tenure. With large-scale investment aimed at expanding infrastructure and improving public facilities, the announcements are expected to contribute to economic activity and support development across different regions of Odisha. The event underlined the emphasis on combining growth initiatives with local engagement and long-term state development goals.
